Rent Supplement Programs

A rent supplement is a monthly payment that helps bridge the gap between a resident’s actual rent and what they can afford. Rent supplement programs help low and modest-income renter households by providing a monthly subsidy for units in an existing rental building. Checks and balances will be in place to ensure the resident’s portion of the rent has been paid, the tenancy is in good standing, and the unit meets minimum property standards.

PHC administers rent supplements for approximately 275 subsidized units within the private market. Applicants for rent supplements will be selected from the centralized housing wait-list.
