POWER OUTAGE UPDATE – APRIL 2, 2025
Please be advised that our office remains closed to the public due to the continued power outage. Staff are working off site and are also out in the communities. We are available by phone and email.

The following resources are available throughout the City and County:
Warming centres are open in the City of Peterborough for residents of the City and County experiencing extended power outages caused by the recent severe ice storm as Hydro One crews continue to work to restore power to affected areas.
The City’s three warming centres are open at the following locations:
- Healthy Planet Arena, banquet hall, 911 Monaghan Rd.: during the day and overnight, will be open until at least noon on April 3.
- Miskin Law Community Complex, 271 Lansdowne St. W.: open until 11 p.m. on April 2
- Peterborough Sport and Wellness Centre, 775 Brealey Dr.: open until 11 p.m. on April 2
Showers are available from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. daily at each of the warming centres.
Food is being provided by the Salvation Army, at the Healthy Planet Arena for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Enbridge Gas Ontario will provide a hot meal for residents impacted by the ice storm, first responders, utility partners and community members at the warming centre location at Miskin Law Community Complex, 271 Lansdowne St. W., from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, April 2, 2025.
Peterborough Transit is offering a free shuttle service to the three warming centres, operating every half hour until 10:50 p.m. The bus departs City Hall, continues to the Simcoe Street bus terminal, the Sport and Wellness
Centre, Healthy Planet Arena and the Miskin Law Community Complex, returning to City Hall.

In the County, the following services are available to those without power:
Norwood: The Asphodel-Norwood Community Centre is open today, until 9:00 pm as a warming centre, device charging, hot showers and water refills. 88 Alma Street, Norwood
Apsley: North Kawartha Community Centre (340 McFadden Rd, Apsley, ON) is open daily until 9PM as a warming room and there is clean water available, there is no internet.
North Kawartha Public Library Branches are open
- Apsley Branch (175 Burleigh Street, Apsley ON) is open from 10AM to 5PM with free coffee, puzzles, books, and DVD rentals available.
- The Woodview Branch (66 Northey’s Bay Rd, Woodview, ON) is open from with free puzzles, books, and DVD rentals available

PHC Staff continue to assess communities and prioritize repairs. Please use caution while navigating outdoor conditions. Continuous high winds, rain and falling debris may present additional hazards. Due to the significant amount of debris across the city and county, it may take several weeks for site clean ups to be fully completed. We ask for your continued patience during this process
